Cisco recently completed a significant upgrade to their CCVP
programme, including a new name: Cisco Certified Network
Professional Voice (CCNP Voice). The topics covered on these new
exams better reflect the daily job tasks of Cisco Unified
Communications and VoIP professionals and have streamlined the
process of getting certified by eliminating the
enterprise/commercial option.
New to the CCNP Voice Programme?
Once you have earned the prerequisite CCNA Voice certification,
you'll need to pass five exams: CVOICE v8 (642-437), CIPT1 v8
(642-447), CIPT2 v8 (642-457), TVOICE (642-427), and CAPPS
(642-467) to achieve CCNP Voice certification. The new courses that
will help you prepare for the exams are:
- Implementing Cisco Unified Communications Voice over IP and QoS
v8.0 (CVOICE
v8)
- Implementing Cisco Unified Communications IP Telephony Part 1
(CIPT1
v8)
- Implementing Cisco Unified Communications IP Telephony Part 2
(CIPT2
v8)
- Troubleshooting UC Systems v8.0 (TVOICE)
- Integrating Cisco Unified Communications Applications v8.0
(CAPPS)
Already Working Toward Your CCVP?
There is a transition period between the CCVP and CCNP Voice
certification until February 28th, 2011 and it
will be possible to mix and match the courses and exams for
candidates who have already begun working towards CCVP
certification.
