~ IT training provider launches new
online resources to give
trainees that little bit extra ~
6 April 2010 – London, UK – IT training and
business skills provider, Global Knowledge, has launched VMware Xtra – a selection of online resources to
help customers get the most from their VMware training courses.
Global Knowledge’s latest offering has been driven by a shift in
learning techniques and customer feedback. The online repository
allows users access to support tools such as technical papers,
industry experts and video tutorials. It accommodates the changing
face of education and the flexibility that is now at the heart of
modern learning.
“Supporting the learner through the cycle is essential to
realise the benefit,” explained Allan Pettman, UK managing director
of Global Knowledge. “Too many training companies simply consider
the course as the sole learning activity. We made a conscious
decision to increase the learning footprint by providing resources
and support for the learner before and after the formal training
activity. These additional activities allow individuals to maximise
the opportunity, and at their own pace.”
The new service, publicly available from today and showcased at
the VMware Forum in London last week, allows users to access to a
selection of videos, presentations, tips, trainer biographies and
contact details, once the course has been purchased.
“We really believe the Xtra resources, of which the VMware suite
will be the first, will enrich our delegates’ experience, save time
and improve the interactive process with our subject matter
experts,” concluded Allan. “It is important that we listen to our
customers and continually look to improve the service we can offer
in supporting the changing needs of learners. With VMware Xtra we
think we’ve done just that”.
