Overview 

This five day course is designed to provide system engineers with the knowledge and skills required to install, upgrade, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot new and existing Cisco Unity installations. This course incorporates Administering Unified Messaging (AUM), as AUM and IUM are a suite of courses based on Cisco Unity v8.0,AUM is the recommended pre-req for IUM and it therefore makes sense to combine into a 5 day course.


Pre-Requisites

Attendees should meet the following prerequisites:

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2003
  • A working knowledge of the Exchange 2003.
  • A working knowledge of the features, benefits, and programming of at least one manufacturer’s PBX (CallManager preferred)

    This course is designed for individuals involved in the installation, configuration and maintenance of a Cisco Unity installation, and is required by Cisco Channel Partners operating in the Advanced UC arena.

    After you complete this course you will be able to:

    • Determine from a hardware specification for a computer messaging system of a stated capacity,the appropriate platform to use and the correct voice boards that will meet the minimum hardware requirements for a Cisco Unity system.
    • Select and idntify the correct components from installation software before installing following the recommended installation sequence,before verifying proper operation.
    • Identify the correct integration type when given specific components, and describe the steps needed to complete the integration.
    • Select the appropriate type of Cisco Unity networking and subscriber to ensure message delivery, message transfer, and directory replication when given a particular server type.
    • Describe and use the appropriate tools to address specific system maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and reporting problems.
