Overview 

This afive-day course that provides students with advanced skills in implementing and troubleshooting Cisco storage networks.

The course focuses on advanced storage networking topics for the Cisco Multilayer Director Switch (MDS) family, including building virtual SAN fabrics, building heterogeneous SAN fabrics, configuring management and security services, configuring Internet Small Computer Systems Interface (iSCSI), and advanced troubleshooting skills. A significant portion of the course is devoted to labs and troubleshooting. This course is based on NX-OS 4.2 and 5.0.

Pre-Requisites

Attendees should meet the following prerequisites:

  • Have attended the Implementing Cisco Storage Networking Solutions Course (ICSNS)
  • CCNA certification is recommendedICND1 and ICND2 or CCNABC

    This course is intended for Field and Systems Engineers involved in the deployment and operation of a Cisco SAN solution, and for those channel partners looking to achieve their Data Center accreditation.

    After you complete this course you will be able to:

    This exam includes topics from both the ICSNS and IASNS course curriculums and it is recommended that delegates take both courses before attempting the exam. This exam is required for delegates looking to achieve The Cisco Data Center Storage Networking Support Specialist Certification.

    Recertification

    Cisco's Specialist certifications are valid for two years.

    To recertify, pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:

    • Pass the current ICSNS Written Exam, or
    • Pass any current CCIE Written Exam, or
    • Pass the current CCDE Written Exam OR current CCDE Practical Exam, or
    • Pass the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview AND the CCAr board review to extend lower certifications
