Overview EMC developed this advanced level course to build the skills needed to accurately apply storage management best practices within an ITIL® framework. Utilizing proven storage management processes can help IT professionals meet and exceed expectations for storage service levels to the business, while reducing cost, complexity and risk. Working through interactive team-based activities, students gain insight into the development of processes, policies, and measurements used to manage and support storage service delivery. Immersed in real world storage scenarios, students use concepts from class to resolve storage service management challenges and meet Customer and business needs. Concepts and principles drawn from EMC best practices serve as examples in the course. The level of detail for process activities, policies and metrics provided in the course can support the introduction of storage service management into an IT organization or improve existing process.

Knowledge/Skills
To understand the content and successfully complete this course, a student must have a suitable knowledgebase/skill set. The student must have an understanding of:
1. Foundation level understanding of an integrated storage hardware and software infrastructure
2. Certification of ITIL at the Foundation level (v2 or v3), including how ITIL processes interact to support rollout
and ongoing management of IT infrastructure
