We have been hearing about IPv6 for many years now and all the
scare stories about running out of IP addresses and the internet
grinding to a halt. Sensational stories always make good copy for
newspapers and magazines however they often hide some of the real
issues.
The internet and the services we use it for is now full of
compromises, it has grown at a rate nobody could predict. We
could do so much more, but we are having to work within an
infrastructure that is starting to show the strain. If they are not
capable of meeting the demands of the user everything gets dragged
down to their restricted capabilities.
This is where we are now with networking. We have avoided the
issues for a long time, the time has come to start addressing
them.
In this webinar, speaker John Berry aims to provide an
independent, unbiased assessment of where we are today and what we
have to do. No scare stories, just the facts.
The webinar will include the following
elements:
- What is IPv6 and why do we need to know?
- How does it work?
- How do we migrate from IPv4?
- What are the real reasons behind the change?
- What are the downsides if we do nothing?
