~ IT training provider launches
‘CCNA Xtra’ with new online resources and
CCNA mentored workshop ~
01 June 2010 – Wokingham, UK – Recognising that
the majority of trainees are looking for a broader learning
experience, IT training and business skills provider, Global
Knowledge, has launched CCNA Xtra. It
offers pre- and post-course information, available online to
delegates, to accompany Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
certification – and a flexible mentored workshop, which caters to
each delegate’s different uptake of knowledge.
Building on the recently launched VMware
Xtra service, providing a selection of online resources to help
customers get the most from their VMware training courses, CCNA
Xtra aims to offer the same for its Cisco accreditation
courses.
“We’re fully aware that clients welcome our support outside the
classroom as part of their education. Whether the desire is to pass
the certification or to further understand the technology, CCNA
Xtra is designed to give the learner further assistance and help
cement the learning process,” explained Allan Pettman, UK managing
director of Global Knowledge. “It’s important to make the
additional activities accessible and relevant –
instructor-view videos, network course choices, revision packets,
proof of configuration demos and more.”
Global Knowledge has also launched a CCNA Mentored Workshop with
a two-day mentored session in a classroom where delegates can get
the practical time with labs that e-learning packages alone cannot
provide. Working with the mentor, the learner can learn by
themselves concentrating on the labs at their own pace or with the
guidance and advice available from an expert should they need
it.
“Sometimes people don’t have the time or opportunity to give a
full week or two to learn about a new technology or gain a required
certification,” explained Allan. “We have designed the workshop to
complement our e-learning package to create a flexible CCNA package
or a standalone opportunity that gives delegates hands-on practical
routing and switching experience.”
“By being able to reduce the time spent in a classroom by up to
80%, as well as making classroom-based learning as flexible as
possible, we hope to encourage more individuals and organisations
to make the most of training options on offer.”
