~ IT training company launches
Cisco learning tools, proven to help
hands-on skills development ~
14 September 2010, Wokingham UK – IT
training and business skills provider, Global Knowledge, has
launched CCNP Xtra, a complimentary hands-on learning development
tool. It allows attendees to practise and hone their skills in
routing and switching, benefiting both professional network and
system engineers in Cisco’s certification track.
“We’re fully aware that people learn in different ways. Trainees
really value the opportunity to extend the learning experience and
gain the pre and post formal tuition support when learning about a
new technology or gaining a required certification,” explained
Allan Pettman, UK managing director of Global Knowledge.
Building on the recent success of VMware and CCNA Xtra, CCNP
Xtra recognises the need to provide candidates with additional
constructive support beyond the formal instructor-led classes. In
that sense it takes Xtra to the next level, allowing trainees to
cement their knowledge. Beta tests support this case, showing that
using CCNP Xtra can enhance a candidate’s chances of passing the
course by over 20%.
“Candidates thrive using ‘hands-on’ learning which can be done
in their own time,” Pettman explained. “It’s our job to make
learning as user-friendly and accessible as possible – with CCNP
Xtra we have built upon a proven model and we look forward to
continuing to support learners on that journey”.
“The release of CCNP Xtra means that the entire Cisco Routing
and Switching track can now offer extended support beyond the
classroom,” concluded Pettman.
