~ Global Knowledge UK wins
Innovation in Training Services award and is finalist for External
Project of the Year and Training Company of the Year ~
10 February 2010 – Global Knowledge, a leader
in IT and business skills training, has won the Innovation in
Training Services award sponsored by the IT Service Management Team
at the IT industry’s prestigious Training Awards. Global Knowledge
was also named a finalist for the External Training Project of the
Year and Training Company of the Year awards sponsored by Prometric
and Ricoh respectively.
“It’s an honour to be recognised for our innovation” said Glyn
Roberts, UK operations director at Global Knowledge. “The training
world is changing rapidly and we need to constantly evolve and
adapt our services to support our customers. Whether it’s
e-learning, mentored learning or classroom-based, we make sure the
training suits.”
In a significant shift away from typical classroom-based
training, Global Knowledge has combined a number of learning
interventions and reduced instructor-led training to provide high
impact learning programmes, delivered in a practical way. This is
called the Collaborative Learning programme.
Global Knowledge won the IT Training Award for its Collaborative
Learning programme based on its success with a number of large
corporate customers. The programme marks a fundamental shift in
learning behaviour by embedding practical application at the very
core of programme design. Participants apply knowledge learned
consistently throughout the programme and build skills in a guided,
safe environment. More importantly, they not only learn from
subject matter experts but from each other.
“The IT Training Awards celebrate outstanding achievement, best
practice and excellence in IT training,” added Colin Steed, Chief
Executive, IITT. “It’s great to see what influence the Institute
has had in raising the standards of the world's best training and
development. The standards of all of the entries has been
outstanding and to be a winner is a real achievement to be proud
of.”
“This award win shows just how important it is to keep
innovating with learning methods and technology,” said Allan
Pettman, UK managing director of Global Knowledge. “While IT
training is often a necessity, we’ve seen that it can be turned
into a far richer experience with flexible delivery mechanisms,
tools and appropriate support. Being recognised for our work in
this space shows that Global Knowledge is indeed leading the
way.”
