Course Overview
TopThis course begins with an introduction to the z/OS environment, TSO and ISPF/PDF, batch processing, and z/OS data sets. Hands-on labs allow you to gain experience with viewing and allocating data sets, submitting a batch job, and viewing job output. After the introduction to z/OS, you will then learn, through lecture and lab exercises, how to use basic RACF command parameters and/or panels to define users and groups, protect general resources, z/OS data sets, and choose a basic set of RACF options.
Virtual Learning
This interactive training can be taken from any location, your office or home and is delivered by a trainer. This training does not have any delegates in the class with the instructor, since all delegates are virtually connected. Virtual delegates do not travel to this course, Global Knowledge will send you all the information needed before the start of the course and you can test the logins.

- Students who need to implement some of the more advanced features of the RACF may want to attend one or more of the following courses:
- Effective RACF Administration (BE87) or (H3927)
- Implementing RACF Security for CICS (ES84) or (ES840)
- Exploiting the Advanced Features of RACF (ES88) or (ES88A)
